Chuck,
It would be helpful if you could tell us what kind of bus you are wanting to install a clutch assist on. That would probably get you more responses.

Good question, Chuck....and according to the answer from Connel, it should ( might, may ) be possible. I have often wondered the same thing, though to be sure, it never occured to me that the kind of bus would make a difference.

I'll be very interested to see those other responses. :-)

They make an air assist clutch setup ( I have one on my 4104 ) that can be adapted to almost any setup. I beleive they are sold by H. B. Industries now. Can be assisted almost as much as you want with the air pressure regulator...can push it down with one hand. Has been on my coach for at least ten years with never a problem. Were a lot cheaper then BTW.

And thanx again, Chuck, for the question.

Bruce,

What is that part, is it the air control valve to the air cyl?

What is your price?

I have the same problem on my 4104 and with my age.

That is the cylinder that senses the movement of the clutch linkage and then sends air to the air cylinder to assist the movement of the linkage. One port goes to the air cylinder and the other goes to an adjustable pressure regulator which is plumbed into your air supply. Apparently, some older MCI'S with std trans had these assist systems on them? BTW, as a clutch wears, the pressure plate fingers get further off center, necessating more pedal pressure to push the pedal in.
