Am looking into installing a R&M fiberglass wrap around dash in my 4104. Was wondering if anyone has done it. Main concern is if there is anything I need to be concerned with. Any help would be great |

Duane - IIRC, the R & M dash requires that you remove the OEM door closer handle. I can understand why you want to "modernize", but the '04's got such a classic dashboard. . . are you sure you really want to do this? LOL FWIW & HTH. . . (Message edited by rjlong on October 23, 2006) |

I thought about that too. but with the Add-ons that have been put on the buss (jake brake controll, self leveler controlls, aftermarket digital oil preasure and volt meter. etc) the drivers compartment is a little cluttered. After looking at the picture of the wrap around dash, It looked alot cleaner. I do hate to lose the door handle though. Just not sure what other options I might have. |

As I recall there was plenty of room on the left armrest for Jakes, Leveling and any other auxiliary controls needed. Richard |

There is all kinds of space on the left side at the old AC control panel. I agree with RJ, that is one classy panel and I sure wouldn't give up mine for anything. All those fiberglass/plastic panels look just like your run-of-the-mill factory motor home, who wants to look just like everybody else?? |

Bernie I will let you know what I do with it. I am also going to look at a 4104 for parts on Wednesday of this week. I will let you know what shape that one is also. |

You can also build a custom dash on the left side and keep your handle, fg is pretty easy to work with and you can create a frame and cover it with cloth set your switches where you want them and mark them then cover the frame with the fiberglass & resin sand and paint, it is a little more work than I make it sound like but is a good option. There are ton's of websites with instructions. |
