Some of you are aware that my dad was put into Hospice this past week. He passed away yesterday afternoon. 10 May 1939 --- 3 Nov 2006

We are traveling today to Knoxville Tn where the funeral will be held.

i dont know you, but i just lost my dad after hospice for 10 months.......i am so so sorry for what you must be going thru, my thoughts and prayers for you and your family

My father passed away this last Feb (in Jackson, TN) after igniting my bus fever. Condolences and best wishes for you and your family.

Ditto from here on the Left Coast - went thru the same hospice situation 18 months ago, know how painful it can be.

Thankfully, he's now in a better place. . . even though it's hard on those left behind.

Airless - I lost my Mom to Cancer almost three years ago. Man it is tough to lose a parent, even when you are in your 40's. She was the last thing on my mind every night as I fell to sleep and the first thing I thought of when I woke for a couple of years after that.

It has only been the last few months that I have been able to think of her without the hurt. I can smile now about all the good times and all she did for me, which is without a doubt what she wanted for us kids.

The short story is time will help, but this is a road not willingly traveled...

Been there. Nov 1991.

I'd give all kinds of advice on how to handle it, but....

As my mom said at his funeral, we will survive, and we have. Life goes on.

Just don't forget him. That's the least we can do.
