Hello all! After lurking on this board for some time, I'm quite pleased to announce that my wife and I brought home our first bus this weekend... a beautiful 1948 GM 4151, vin # 268. A picture: http://www.erston.com/temp/BnE4151.jpg It's basically a shell, having been converted when someone thought carpet on every surface was a good idea. A couple of previous owners ago pulled out the carpet, leaving bare walls, a kitchen, a mostly assembled bathroom and a bedroom. We're still deciding our layout and plans... but the good news is that we have all winter to think that through. :-) Anyway, a question: Does anyone have links to where we can look up the fleet delivery info? I tried a few links I had saved from searching and reading the archives, but could not find listings for busses that old. Thanks in advance - and thanks for all the great info that I've been able to pull from the archives, this board has been a lifeline of information and advice for our pre-purchasing research. Cheers, ~ Erston |

Oh yeah, your cruising! She looks great and how about that 4 speed on the column! Good luck. I'm sure someone will give you the info on the #'s. |

Thanks, David! Pretty silverside of your own there too... it's great to see that there are others out there who think that these things are rolling works of art! ~ Erston |

Hi Erston its always nice to see another silverside enthusiast. I'm shure one of the guys with the serial number info. will get back to you here on the board. At some point I am going to do some digging and find the serial number info on the 3751 and 4151 buses so I can keep it on file here myself. Nice old bus I have one 4151 serial no. 059 its the red one in the picture. If I can help you with anything give me a e mail or call. Best of luck. Tim 740-404-0853 |
