Jerry, You sent me an email, I tried to reply and the email addresses are very fouled up. The one here on BNO in your user list doesn't work right either. Please check and verify that you have you mail name or alias setup correctly as nobody can reach you the way it is now.... Dave.... Oh an here's what I tried to send back to you too! Ok, I think I understand.. The 1 1/16 " nut should be soaked with wd40 or JB Blaster for a while, Then apply a little heat to it with a propane torch. Then if you have a 1/2" Air Impact wrench you should be able to back the nut off. The air tool will apply more inertial force than a breaker bar will without damaging the shaft. The worst case scenario would be to split the nut with a chisel if you can do it without damaging the threads. The nuts used are standard fine thread axle nuts available at auto parts stores (usually) or if you get stuck locating one a 33mm Lug Nut is the same thread. I didn't have to remove the big nuts, just loosen to allow the arm to swing to a new position where I locked it into place. The mirror head does all the actual adjusting once the arms are pivoted into the right place. Dave..... |
