Does anyone know the weight of a 8v71 and V730 on cradle?

I am looking to have one shipped to me and need to know the weight.

Thanks in advance.

Jack

Jack, an 8V-71 is going to weigh close to 2300 lbs. A friend of mine said a V-730 will weigh around 850 lbs.

Both weights are without oil.

Jack Make sure that who ever ships it ships it dry. Most common carries charge outrages price if there is hazardeous fluids. I learnedthe hard way. Mike

I'm still deciding whether renting a truck, diesel, and mileage is cheaper than just having it trucked.

Thanks again,

Jack

I hauled an 871/HT740 combination a few years back on my car hauler tandem axle pulled by a pickup. Worked quite well as long as you don't get in too much of a hurry. Just keep out of the snow.

3500 lbs would definitely be cheaper to move yourself. Unless you have someone move it as a favor. That isn't much weight...any flatbed skid loader trailer or car hauler would carry it.
The only hassle with this is loading and unloading. Rent a crane and driver for $75 bucks (total $150 if you need to lift at both ends..or no $$ if you have some way to lift the unit) as long as it's ready to lift and they don't dink around. Maybe the seller will load?
If you move it, be sure that you plan some way to chain the unit to the trailer. Any full sized pickup would easily pull the load.
Is the power unit mounted on a cradle that will sit solidly on a flat surface?
A rollback would likely be the cheapest "paid" method...you may find someone that needs bucks..and will work for cheap. That would be an easy job.
