Everytime we go to start our 1989 eagle model 20 the fuel filters are half full and there is alot of air in the system. I was reading in the manuel that the model 20 came with a fuel pump in the system that of course was removed before we acquired the bus. This is a pain in the #&%. I know that most systems have a stopcock valve in the system but I can't find one in my system (did they not have one i.e. the fuel priming system in the back) Most of the time the batteries don't have enough of a charge to prime and then start the bus on one try? |

Is your a NJT Model 20? I have one with the priming fuel pump. But it has not worked since I have had the coach and I have not had any problem. I belive that it was only to be used when the filters were changed. If needed I can look at mine tomorrow and try to discribe how it is plumbed. But I don't think that is your problem. Let me know what I can do to help. Art |

While I'm not familiar with your particular bus, I think you may have a bad check valve (at the input to the primary filter) These can usually be dis-assembled and cleaned up. Len |

On another post about removing air starters... here's a long shot, are you an ex-NJT and was the fuel line that lubed the air starter properly terminated? If not, source of air to fuel line and loss of prime. happy coaching! buswarrior |
