Hey Guys how about letting me know what kind of batteries to use In my Eagle for house Batteries I was at sams club a while ago and there group 31s was $8099 but they didn't have enough of them, My wife Is going In the morning and getting some group 31's. Is this the best kind to have

Trojan T-105 is widely touted as the cheapest amp-hour per dollar battery. Ask around to find who has the best price. Locally, I found a place that had over 1000 in stock & they said the oldest one in stock was less than 3 months old. They were cheapest too.

Oh, you need to look into 'water miser' OR 'hydrocap' battery caps to minimize water usage & ease battery maintence. |

If you are buying house batteries, make sure they are deep cycle. As Kyle said. T105 golf cart make the most bang for the dollar spent. If room is a problem, consider the L 16's Phrannie has some excellent practical information.

I wish i knew what group31 was or any other ones. when I got my bus it had 8 6volt golf cart batterys in the battery bay. all of them were bloated and needed replacing. I just went to walmart and grabbed 4 of their marine deep cycle batterys. each is rated at 100 amp hr I put them in parllel. I fount it to be enough for the time being. |

You probably got Series 25 or 27 which is what most WMs sell. I had to go to Sam's to get my Series 31. |

I had to go to Sam's to get my Series 31.
Series 31 is like a shoe size like 10D.
Did you purchase golf cart Deep Cycle batts for the House side,
or the CCA rated starting batts for the engine start?
They CAN NOT be interchanged .

Speaking of batteries, I'm getting to the point of installing my house system. Initially it'll be 4 T105's. I'm putting them in the center of the front bay along with the 2 8D start batteries. The gas tank I have for my generator will fit perfectly in the original battery compartment, and I feel better about having it isolated from anything else.
My question is how are you venting the battery area? Are you guys putting batteries in some sort of sealed enclosures and venting them? This is the part that I haven't quite figured out - how to properly ventilate them. I'd thought to make an enclosure with an air intake and a small blower that's powered when the batteries are charging, either from the alternator or the charger.

You may want to just switch the 8Ds to the house system and use group 31s for start batteries. A DD does not need a lot of cranking time, if it is going to start at all. So the group 31s can supply plenty of starting power while the 8Ds take the abuse as house batteries. Or you could just get rid of the 8Ds all together. |
