Hang in there guys, Ive took about 600, yes 600 photos so far and Im sortin through them today and trying to post the most relevant ones. I just put up a couple of teasers on the slideouts for yall. I took many pics for reassembly references, as I have the worst memory in the world. Ill keep sortin through them today and post on the blog as I find them and then this week Ill try to staighten out my blog. Hope these dont bring back to many bad memories Gary L., but it was inspiration from your cd that made me take it all the way. Any body who wants to see what a part of their Eagle looks like that they havnt seen I probably got a pic of it. This is a 69 Eagle. Thanks all Steve .....

Steve

Comparing yours to Gary's, which was the better (poorer) of the two before you got started? Joe.

Joe,I really think if you were to put both mine and Gary's bus side by side before any rework was done you wouldnt see any difference in the two of them. The main thing to remember is that Gary had to do all this under a full conversion. That in itself makes me kringe at the thought of all the crawling, bent over all the time, and fighting the weight of a fully converted coach over him. Both I and my wifes heart goes out to him as we can only imagine the added work of the repairs from underneath. At any rate it makes him the "King of Conversion Repair". We only hope ours comes out half as nice. If it were not for Gary's cd I might have given up after deskinning my Eagle. As it was, with his cd in hand I knew full well what I was in for before my bus was delivered. Oh yea, did I mention that Dec. 7,06 was when my bus was delivered as a fully operational, fully seated bus. Ive tore thru it like a tornado. Again, thanks to Gary's cd, as I knew everything had to go. So heres to "the king of conversion repair" thanks all. ......Steve and Deb

What a lot of work. Nice workmanship though. Hope sundancekid45 studies your pictures to verify that his coach doesn't have any of these issues. Be good pics to put in a section on used Eagles for new prospective owners to see where they need to inspect before purchasing . Would be nice to have a section on MCI's and GMC's also.

Hey Steve,
Looks like Gary's bus...all that new steel.
And to answer your first question....looks like an 8V71 to me...they all look the same.
Get any rain up there today?
We did.
Come see me sometime! JR

Well you're a far better man than I. Whew. Anxious to see your cabinet expertise...in what, say three years? :-) Man that's a lot of work, but looks like you're tackling it with gusto. I've now subscribed to your blog so I can see the play-by-play. From those of us who have learned just about *everything* from the work of others like you, you help make others successful. The documentation is appreciated!

Chuck, Im guessing more along the line of 4 years to get to the cabinet install, and a year to finish them since Ive got a lot of neat little tricks planned. I just hope I dont loose alot of yall when I completely customize the exterior. Lots of different pieces from lots of different makes and models of vehicles. Thanks all Steve

Steve this brings back way to many memories, but it looks like your headed in the right direction! Remember this, "time flies when your having a good time"! When you get disgusted from the rust, just go look at Torquesters site, that should be inspiration enough! By the way nice site welcome to the online glutton for punishment crowd! Good luck!:-) Pat

Pat, Ill be glad when I can look at someone elses bus with all its rust and say the same. I just didn't know how bad it is to deal with the rust till I lived it. Im looking forward to the milestone soon of having more primered new or reworked metal, than just plain ole rusty metal. At least then it will begin to get coralled up towards a center point. Thanks all again for all the inspiration, I know I'll start to see light at the end of the tunnel soon.....Steve...
