Hi guys, just a quick question and to say thank you for the heads up on the air tank question I had a couple of weeks ago.
On my 72 Eagle, I have the 8v70. On my trip from Florida to Connecticut, the rpm gauge started to act up meaning, not showing the same rpms the motor would be running at. I know this from knowing what the rpm should be at certain set speed.
Question, were is the sending unit on the motor for the rpm gauge on the dash?. Maybe I can do some maintenance or trouble shoot to repair the problem.
Thanks.

Doug, All sorts of ways this can work. Mine has a sending unit on the bottom of the flywheel that counts the teeth. There is also an rpm port on the engine's left (street side) as you stand at the engine door and look in. That is on my 6v92. Your 71 may be different.

What brand do you have? Mine is VDO.
