Ed Skiba (ednj) is broken down with no air compressor in PA on I78 at exit 35. If anyone is in the area and can help out, I know he would appreciate it. His cell phone number is 908-303-9836. If you can help or know someone who can, please give him a call. Thanks....Ross |

Hardware stores sell tools? Really? C'mon, the man is trying to help out a busnut in need. Not a warranted comment. |

Called him- he has a wrecker there now, is going to have it towed to Bernies in Quakertown. Told him about Leid's in Newville if that didn't work out. He broke down near Hamburg. |

have a spare air compressor, a fair amount of tools and, a willingness to help. however, should wvobus become compressor stranded, me best advise would that he search for a hardware store. gary t'berry |

We used a 12v compressor to build air once to get to a campground. The lever on the top of the compressor was stuck. I think you would have to have a gen set and a decent compressor with most coaches. Ours did not have the new style brakes at the time and it only built air to 40 psi. You can buy tools at the Hardware store but I'm sure having tools wasent the problem. I think at least a third of the payload on most coaches is tools and spares! I know where Bernies is and have heard of Reids Diesel, but what kinda of place is Bieber? |

Ross - thanks for posting. Thanks to everyone who called!! It's good to know that so many people are willing to help out. I took all the tools out because I have a back injury I'm recovering from and couldn't use them anyway. By the way - the compressor was shot - it appears that the bus compressor is different from a truck compressor - a bus compressor is horizontal and a truck compressor is vertical. Anyhow, Uncle Bernie (Bernhardt's bus) took real good care of us. Bill, one of his workers, got started on it the moment he came in on Friday (we got there too late on Thursday night.) Even with their hectic schedule, they didn't stop until it was completed and we were out of there. By the way, Luke, thanks for calling our tow insurance company and recommending Bernhardt's bus co. John Cherry from Evolution Custom Coach was the tow man. He sure knew what he was doing and did a great job. We spent the night at Camp Bernie's amongst all the Scenic Cruisers with 60s series engines. Wow - those guys really do some nice custom work. There were a lot of overpowered antique buses! We got going on Friday early afternoon and had a great weekend anyway in the snow!! Thanks again to all who called and were so willing to help a fellow bus nut. First thing I did when I got home was put the tool box back in!!! |
