can you switch side windows from this bus 1961 GMC

into a GMC 4905? It is a crazy idea, but it would allow me to remove the too thin skin on my bus and add light to it. Later I plan on Penninsula's, but this bus is going to be scrapped out and I could probably get the windows for cheap.

Glenn -

Possibly.

Can you get the VIN off that Fishbowl? If so, depending on the year, the side sash may fit your Buffalo.

Does your coach still have the original window cut-outs behind the siding?

FWIW & HTH. . .

;)

Hey RJ,
The original window cut-outs are still there for the side sashes at the last positions on each side and in the front positons on each side. The other ones are covered (probably in riveted steel) and then additionally covered in this aluminum. That is according to pictures and descriptions from Captain Ron. This bus is a 1961, ( I forgot to add that in the original post) I will see if I can get a serial no. for it.

Glenn,

I assume the scap bus has sliding sashes.

Does you bus still have the bus side of the hinge above the windows?

How about the emergency latch rail below.

Doug-
Didn't think about those, and I don't know about the hinge, but i'm sure the emergency latch is gone. I can't see any latch in the photo's Captain Ron sent me from before he re-converted it. This may all be a moot discussion for the present because I think someone got stuck with this whole bus for 1.00. Ya gotta have some guts to pull one of these out of the woods!
