Hey Gang, I am getting ready to transport a Megaliner from N.D. to TX for a friend and have a few operation questions. If any of you are familiar with them I would like to pick your brain. I have driven at least a million miles in Eagles and Prevosts but never a Neoplan. Thanks in advance, Justin justing@aggies.com |

Thanks Gang for all the E-mails. I got my magnetic brake question answered as well as other operation questions answered. Wish me luck, I am delivering this thing from N.D. to TX, and after reading your new bus transport stories all night I hope I have no stories to tell. I have been driving/maintaining coaches for entertainers and my own coach for 10-15 years but I have yet to see anything like this Neoplan. It is a real rust bucket. Good news is it has a fresh 8-92/allison and working bus air and heat. If the thing doesn't break in two from the rust or I dont get arrested for driving it everything will be fine I should be leaving this evening provided the shop gets the PM/punch list done. Are we sure these things are only 13'6"? sure looks taller to me. I did after reading your posts about over length get a trip permit but may leave it off until I get stopped as to not draw attention, The bus draws enough attention on its own. Anyway, Thanks to all for the help. If any of you are ever in the Austin/Jarrell area of TX let me know. I try to keep a lot of eagle and Prevost parts on hand. My cell number is in my profile. Or, even better call and we can meet for a cup of coffee. Happy Bus Ridin' to all of you great folks. Best, Justin Griffith |
