I received my tire monitors last week and have not yet installed them but the kit looks very simple and easy to use. I have read the instructions thoroughly and was ready to install the system. Snag! The butt hole that mounted the wheels/tires left the valve cap on the stem. I knew I was going to need extensions on the inner wheels and I got those at my local truck parts house but couldn't put them on until the caps are removed. The holes in the wheels are exceptionally small so it is making for a tough job. Once the extensions are installed the monitoring system should be a breeze and a relief while driving too! Thanks Jim Shepherd at RV Safety Systems for the quick service and the discount! Much appreciated! Ace |

I had to remove the short extensions on the inner wheels of my bus and found it easier to get to them from between the wheels. Make sure the valve stem is at 8 or 4 o'clock position and just stick you hand/arm between the wheels to get to them. (Message edited by zimtok on June 15, 2007) |

Ace, I had to remove the outer wheel to install the extension on the inner wheel. I purchased a couple white rubber sink plugs in the plumbing department at Home Depot (I think they were 1 3/8" or 1 1/2") I drilled an under size hole in the center of them and after installing the extensions on the inner wheels and re-installing the outer wheels, popped these into the hole in the outer wheel. They stabilize the extensions while still allowing a little movement. We also rotated the valve stems on the outside duals so that the stems no longer point inward. This makes installing the sensors and adding air (if neccessary) much easier. Jack |

be sure to to keep an eye on the monitors,as they age the will loose air and give false readings. i was told this by a tire man. i don't know if he is a 100 % correct. i have had the valve entensions leak when the rubber seal went bad. |
