Well I found out first hand that there is definitely more than one way to skin a cat, so to speak! After the butt head that mounted my outer wheel a couple of weeks ago while fixing an inner flat, he was sure to align the inner valve stem in the outer hole. Yes he did this ok but he left the cap on the inner valve. After a few unsuccessful attempts with various hand tools to remove the cap, I came up with a brainstorm and what's scary is, I don't know why I thought of it. A simple piece of tubing slipped thru the outer hole and gently forced over the inner valve cap. Unscrewing the cap was a breeze and installing the new extension went on without a glitch! The bad news is the other side is NOT lined up with the outer hole so it looks like the outer wheel will have to be removed! Oh well, new hub caps needed to be installed anyway so it will all work out in the end! :Smiley Ace |
