Can anyone give a reason why not to close off the louvered door vents on a GM (I am assuming at least the 4106 and later might have them)? I noticed a while back that it is a straight shot to the outside. As I was driving down the road I stuck a piece of notebook paper over it an there was enough suction to hold it there. With that much air moving through the door, it is no wonder the bus is so hard to cool while driving. Not to mention the small bugs that could possibly get in while parked. |

Try temporarily blocking the air inlet holes below the side window if the 06 has them...the 04's have a rectangle of tiny holes for the heater and AC? air inlet. We can cover ours in the winter with naugahide snap on covers. |

I,ve blocked off all of my door's vents, there are some on the bottom too and filled he door with insulation. I've also eliminated the side inlet vents that the 4107 has. My copilot no longer complains about the drafts from the door, and the bus is easier to heat and cool. It was 95 on a recent trip from Cincinnati home & with 4 aboard we maintained 72 in the bus with the 18,000 BTU/h ductless split running off of the inverter. Regards Jerry 4107 1120 |

The ones in my 4104 are blocked off by an inside door panel. According to the manual the original purpose of these was for a stale air exit. Not hard to imagine the need for one with 41+ souls on board. Mine has so many other air leaks I sure don't need another one. |

Closed off all the vents, and added some sticky foam to the backside of the panels. I expect to notice a big difference the next trip out. One added bonus; the door now shuts with a nice solid thump, instead of sounding like it’s about to rattle itself apart. Laryn |

We closed up our door vents, the side vents and the vent (4104) that is in the top step as an air return for the bus air/heat. It helped A LOT! Jim-Bob |
