What would be a great price to pay for a newly rebuilt 8v from a mci bus the guy says he got 15,000.00 in this . Is that possible and how hard is it to get it into mc9

I paid 13K for a 8v71TA with Jakes, fresh rebuild. Not sure what a 92 would have cost.

Probably $8000 would be a great price if it was done right; of course free would be better,trying to be realistic though. But you need to see verification as to WHO did the work and WHAT was done. Rebuild means many things to different people unfortunately.

You can have 15,000 in a 8v92 if it done right i was at W W Williams and the shop foreman quoted a fellow 2000.00 per cylinder with new a crankshaft and a line bore like John said make him show verification

Thanks for the info the guy had bills for fifteen thousand canadian dollars with labour. I never thought to be that forward and ask to see the bills.

Who built the engine? Make sure you see the receipts! If it's so good why is he selling it? A remanufactured 8v92 is around 17k from a reputable builder like Jasper, they actually have gurantee's with their engines. Any thing else would be a lot less, and how many hours or miles on that "rebuilt" engine? Ask questions, and more questions, and then again ask don't be shy!
