Hello everyone,
As usual this is a long post but was a pleasure to compose for Paul & Becky Lawry "Fist Every Texas Bus Roundup". It was fun to compose with the information submitted by Paul about everyone he is excited about attending the lawry's first bus gathering rally.

No doubt this rally will also grow, very quickly with the Southern panhandle converters now because of fuel prices etc. but we can all enjoy with the information received from those attending through emails, bb'd postings and most importantly also photographs.

I look forward to traveling to as many Rally's as possible too, expecially next year when I hope to have the OLE Eagle finally road worthy, probably not done but a LaBombard party mobile we can travel in.

This post is long as I said so you may lose your focus reading, but I wrote it for a friend indeed I wanted to leave no one out. Now I am tired and rest is what I need, got to get ready for tomorrow's Delaware poem to write for day number two. Thanks for putting up with my nonensense, I know this will probably be moved but maybe some of you will see it before hand.

This message was also posted on MAK for those that do not frequent both great bb'ds. Good luck to all that attend, do so safely.

Now for Paul & Becky's bus rally information:

Texas Bus Roundup, 2007

Making up poems for bus rallies is becoming my new found handle,
Paul & Becky are planning, a rally in the southern panhandle.
They’re both anxious and excited, as you can all imagine,
Hoping for great attendance, of children, men & women.

Paul & Becky Lawry asked friends and busnuts, to all put together,
A bus rally for Southern Converters, no matter what the weather.
Mother nature has pulled, an awful surprise,
Now the rally site is under water, in front of their eyes.

There is time ahead, so don’t go changing your plans,
Just pray God will help us, it’s out of man’s hands.
The “First Ever Texas Bus Roundup” is the name we all choose,
For the name of our gathering, putting this in rhyme is hard to compose.

Paul found a campground, with 19 sites to fit our rigs in,
Please mother Nature, just this once give in.
Our rally will be located, just north of Dallas,
A beautiful place to meet friends, it may not be a palace.

Our rally site is named, “Hickory Creek Campground”
In the state of Texas, there’s not a better conversing place around.
God help us dry up, this beautiful meeting site,
Our rally is scheduled to be in September, 4 days and 3 nights.

The dates for Paul & Becky’s rally is September, 13-16
A reality now and no longer a dream.
Our rally will be relaxed, informal and small,
A friend once told me, “Keep your rallies quant, You’re sure to have a ball”.

The men will probably kick their tires, you women know us guys,
Maybe they’ll slip in a few devilish innocent lies.
For a few days we’ll not listen, to disturbing outside world news,
We’ll not let anything or anyone, bring us down or give us the blues.

Plan on campfires, with hot dogs and marshmallows,
Honest ladies, the men will help, you do promise right, Fellows?
We want this Texas rally to be of a huge success,
Then let it be written on chat boards, it was one of the best.

There are many that helped, put this event in place,
Everyone’s always invited and will be received in grace.
Those that are coming will now be discussed,
Names you all know, look up to and trust.
Darrin Bruner, Rally Co-organizer drives an Eagle you see,
Looks like an entertainers bus, to all even you and me.
ChuckMC9 is another good friend, also a great rally organizer,
One darn smart fellow, he’s real quiet but much wiser.

One other couple there has a MC9,
Who’s names are Frank & Kathy you see, who are friends of yours and mine.
We have others coming that own a MC8,
Skip Nyberg and John Perterson, whom we hope won’t come late.

We have more friends coming in a GMC pd4107,
Cristy & Larry Hicks, God I love their bus, truly a treasure from heaven.
Can’t forget Arthur Gaudet’s GMC pd4107 too,
Wish I had one, I think since I was 10 or was it since age two?

Dutch will be bringing his GMC 4106,
Wish I could attend, to get that GMC fix.
Others attending, their bus models I have not yet known,
I bet they own conversion buses, their proud of to own.

Some owners of conversions, I’m not sure of buses they own
Plan to attend this rally, and confirmed it by phone.
Alton & Dorothy Gattis, David St. John,
J. Vickers will be there also, from dusk to dawn.

Ray Lala also has an MCI8,
Loves his Detroit Diesel, because he can spin the wheels out of the gate.
Ray Davidson surely should not be forgotten,
If I forgot to mention him, I would surely feel rotten.

The rest of Rally members drive Eagles, which you all know I love,
I can’t wait to visit this rally, because of the people here and above.
Bob Belter, Clifford & Sonja also come to this rally to play,
Also my personal Eagle converter, Good Ole converter, Sonnie Gray.

Please take the time to meet Sonny’s wife, adorable Patty Gray,
Sonny makes her comfortable to travel, each and every day.
A lot of great fulltime converters scheduled to be at this rally of Paul’s,
Maybe in the future we can have entertainers, like ole Lou Rawls.

I’ve taken Paul’s information and put it all in rhyme,
Forgive me if I’ve forgotten anyone, in this poem this time.
we hope to attend pauls & Becky’s rally, next year this time,
meeting you all there in person will be a pleasure of mine.

Again travel safe & allow plenty of time,
Make this rally be remembered as your favorite & one day one of mine.
This poem is now completed, I’m sure your glad of,
Remember have fun at Paul & Becky’s rally, & share all of your love.

Phew!! Talk about tired out.

Gary
