I have 3 8D acid deep cycle batteries in my Eagle 10 with a Freedom 2000 inverter. The charger side did not work so I have hooked up a 75 amp charger to replace the 100 amp 3 stage on the Freedom. This charger seems to only take the batteries up to 12.65 volts maximum that shows up on my Link 1000 remote in the coach. I am thinking that I should just replace the Freedom with a new one but I don't want to spend my
$$$ unless the new 3 stage charger will charge my batteries up more. The batteries are 9 months old and I just took them out, recharged and load tested them. Any ideas???

Dennis,

I bought a reconditioned 45 amp converter for $160. It has the 3 stage charging feature for lead acid batteries. They also sell 80 amp converters. Better than spending $1200 for a new inverter.

good luck hope this helps.

My Heart Freedom 1000 inverter quit charging and I asked here where to get it repaired. Then I procrastinated and just before a trip last month had to install new batteries. Guess what. It started charging pergectly again. It apparently could sense how bad the batteries were and would not attempt to charge them.
