We came across a portable State weigh station a few days ago and out of curiosity I pulled up and asked the trooper if he would be kind enough to give us a go. Turns out, stripped of all seats, except one set of two, full tank of fuel, all junk out of the bays, including spare tire, etc, we weighed 23,700. Has anyone kept track of what the AVERAGE added weight might approximate with holding tanks, counters, Genset, fridge, etc etc? I realize that is like asking how much does a fat lady weigh, but maybe someone has had the experience of trying to maintain a total weight added and has kept track of it. Just curious, but input would be helpful. I was titled at 26,000 and that does not leave much room for careless planning. ( over that limit puts one into a different tax situation in NM, and who knows what else) Thanx, RCB |

Dave - RCB's got a 10-wheel Crown Activity Bus - similar appearance to their school buses, but built w/ recliner seats, luggage racks, etc. FYI, the seat pairs in the MCIs weigh between 75 - 100 lbs each, and there are 22 pair of them. I'll let you do the math. . . 8^) RJ PD4106-2784 Fresno CA |

My Flxi transit checks in at 28k with all infastructure in place but no interior built. I never got a chance to weigh it totally stripped. Probably about 26-27k. Scott |

Just to give you some idea of how light a GMC is, I ran my 4106 across the scales moving it from one storage facility to another awhile back. At the time, the coach still had the complete OEM HVAC system, the OEM restroom, six bunks made from 1.5" square steel tubing, angle iron and 1" plywood, four OEM seat pairs, half a tank of fuel (approximately 75 gallons - mine has a gauge), plus a bunch of parts in a baggage bin. 20,458 lbs. This is after subtracting the driver's weight (my 6'1", 175lb, 19 year-old son). My guess is that it will be under 19K when I finish stripping it. . . FWIW, RJ PD4106-2784 Fresno CA |

That's about equivalent to a full complement of adult passengers when it was a bus. DaveD |
