Well, its gettin cold ! It can get down to zero here. Went to start the heater and shes not even hooked up. First question, Basic rv long rectangle propane or gas heater. Looks like 12 volt . Is this even safe to fire up and or safe to heat while sleeping? Would this actually heat a whole bus at 72 degrees? Would a wall style large 220 big btu unit be better? We are talkin in the parked position with motor off. Any advice on this heater would be great! Thanks , cowboy

Cowboy,
LP RV furnace can be anywhere from 20-40K. By wall style 220 big BTU, do you mean a 220 volt electric unit? This would require a constant 220 connection(50 amp), not a good idea.
As far as the LP furnace being safe to fire up, hard to say without seeing overall condition of the unit. These furnaces do require 12 volt for operation (fan & controls). Low voltage will cause them to not operate. If properly installed they are safe. You do have carbon monoxide and LP detectors on board don't you? Jack

Jack, I do not see any carbon or LP detectors as of now. I must get some. I am guessing this is an LP unit, Looks to be in good condition. Just being new to this operation, Wanted to be safe and wanted to know if this is a standard style unit in RV land I will fire it up in the garage and see what we have. Thanks, PS, should I reply to personal contact information with my questions or just post another reply like this on here?

Keep posting so we can read it unless it is personal in nature.
