I keep seeing folks here saying that they've raised their roof 6", 8", etc, and a lot of discussion about that being "enough", "too high" etc. BUT I've never seen any actual finished outer heights mentioned here!
I have an old Crown that is currently 9'9" and I'm contemplating raising the roof something like 15", which would give me 11 foot at the outside peak, or around 12' with A/C... is this going to be hitting things as I drive the country?
How High are YOUR busses on the outside peaks?

Thanks!

Hi Gary,

If you are under 13.5, I believe, you'll be safe on any interstate in the country. If you are in the twelve range, you're golden. Of course, there may be some underpasses on back roads that will still be too low, so you still have to pay attention to signs. But I think 12' feet should give you no unecessary stress.

I forget my height at the moment. I have a roof rack with a crane on top as my high point. I think I am in the high 10' to low 11' range (transit). I'll have to remeasure next time my air bags are up. Our height is something we should all know off the top of our head. . .

The new G-models are 11'6" or so - and the only problem is in the Petersburg, VA Greyhound terminal - one bay will snag the E-Z Pass off the roof. That will give quite a bit of room - just make sure you don't get top-heavy with all the extra metal up top.
