1988 Cabriolet. I had the left front axle worked on a while back and in the process apparently something was disconnected somewhere. I note a brown ground wire about 6-8 inches long (connected to the firewall in the engine compartment) not connected at the opposite end.....and haven't been able to locate where it should be attached..... ....one clue...when shifted into reverse, on occasion, the horn will sound... Whoopeee, alas,, it's not broke!! Any ideas? Thanx....in advance RCB |

Chuck I have played with Jetta's for a number of years, We only have seven of them in the family. All the kids, mama and me have atleast one. When it comes to fixing them, I can usually claim "we have pieces" with a smile. It helps to have a few write offs against the back fence. I ended up buying a fuel pump once, that was not required after I found the broken ground wire which terminated on the intake manifold. Good hunting Chuck, there may be a crimp terminal there somewhere to give you a clue. It also helps to have the "da book" Robert Bentley manual. Joe. |
