In my GMC 4108 I replaced the ram style Saginaw Power Steering with the Shepard, which was taken from a AM General. I changed the pump to the one recommended for the Shepard. I used the pipes and the fluid reservoir that were already in the bus, from the Saginaw system. My system is very, very, sloppy and I have heard that it may be that the steering gear may not be getting enough fluid. Any ideas and do any of you have the proper resevoir with the larger outlet. |

If you have air in the system it will be sloppy jack up the front of the bus and turn the steering all the way right and then all the way left a number of times, slowly, to help remove the air from the system, you may need to add oil to the system ?? |

Also make sure there is NO play in the steering system. Often the slip joint from the bulk head to the steering gear is a little sloppy and you gotta fix it. |
