John, The rear end is a Rockwell. Most good truck gear houses will be able to rebuild it for you. I had ours done recently. They replaced all of the gears and bearings. Cost was about $2800 not counting labor to install. Only one gear was broken, but all magnafluxed with small cracks in them. You can get a used Diff unit for less but it probably won't pass magnaflux, although it may run many miles. Jock Fugitt |

John, I forgot to mention that the rockwell drop box differential is available is several ratios. Be sure to get the right one. I think it is 3.36:1 for the good gearing. the MC5-C Saudi busses had a very low gearing for the 6-71 engine. will limit top speed to about 65. My books are across town with the bus right now, but next week when I get the bus back home, I will check for sure on the ratio. Jock Fugitt |
