For a short term fix, I took 2 2x4 blocks and fastened them to the base of the vertical hangers that hold the engine. I set them on the bumper and fastened them to the uprights. These blocks hold the door away from the valve cover. However, you will need to use a bunge to strap the door shut. This should buy you time until you modify the door.

Have a great day.

Doesn't R&M Fiberglass make a 4106 tailgate panel that will work for this application?

I had a panel covering my valve cover that I just removed and the valve cover now is exposed, but the rear door shuts fine. I like seeing the valve cover. Good Luck, TomC
