Anyone have a part number, specs, or good source of supply for the gas springs to support the 4106 engine door and bay doors?

Engine door uses a mechanical hinge so gas springs are fine.

The same springs will rip the rubber bay hinges apart in short order due to the load.

I installed gas shocks on my bay doors three years ago and the hinges are still good. Got the shocks from Internationl Bus in Orlando. The shocks were 150#. Part number from them was 9504-150. Only installed one on each door and I open them alot. phone was 407-880-9700 Larry 4106

I've had no problems with gas struts on my 4104 baggage doors either. Some rubber hinges are good and some are not.

I got my struts from Camping World, get the strongest ones they have, 120lb I believe.

For my engine door I used two old struts from my '88 Dodge minivan. There is a string somewhere on this board or the MAK board, don't remember which.

The gas springs have a tennacy to either brake or push out the rubber hinges, im converting the bay doors to stainless hinges, id recomend them as its a one time job and the problems are over
