My rv is not a bus. It is a truck with a refrigerated van body. The walls are 3 1/2" thick.I just got a window from Penn. glass. First I got just the window and inner ring. They fed ex'ed the thermal break and screws out to me. I don't have any instructions. Looking at their website instructions it says to peel tape off thermal break and stick it to the inner ring. The thermal break they sent is just a piece of rubber about 5/8"x1/4"no adhesive of any kind. Also it looks like they want me to seal the flange with "Closed cell foam tape" 5/8"x1/8" or 5/8"x1/4". The question is where do I get the tape? When I asked for it at Home Depot they look at me like I am nuts and tell me there is no such thing. Thanks Carl |

I just bought some at Home Depot. Look in the section where they have the door/window weather strips. |

Thanks Jojo, I'm going back there today. I saw some mounting tape in the paint dept. It was only 1/16" and adhesive on both sides. The guy that I asked about the "closed cell foam tape" was in the window dept., he denied it's existance. I will ask for weather strips this time. |

The weather strip packages will tell you if it is closed cell or not. Not all weather strip is closed cell, but usually the ones that are will say so right on the package. |

When I bought my Penninsula window about 3 yrs. ago they supplied a caulking gun tube of sealant with each window. I think it was Butyl its black and can be a real mess. I also believe it is always stays piable, it does harded some. I did think their directions are terrible. They make a great product, but they would have a complete package if they would take a hour or two and make some good directions with a few photos. My windows have never leaked, not even one drop, using their windows and sealant. |
