I have a 1979 MCI with a 6v71. I am going to sell it soon. If I can't sell it for enough money I was thinking I could sell the engine. It is a rebuilt 6v71. The engine looks like it has benn rebuilt recently because of the still clean paint on it. I could not get a accurate millage on the rebuild, so I can't give you that ionfomation. I would like to get an estimate as to what the engine could sell for. Thanks Roger

Roger -

A few questions:

Why are you going to sell your MCI?

Is it a 5C?

Was it one of the double-door Saudi model, or a single sedan door unit?

If you sell the engine, what would you do with the rest of the vehicle, part it out, too?

As you're probably aware, the market is very, very soft right now. And 6V71s have never really had a decent resale value - the inline six has always been better in that regard. But to give you an idea, check out Nimco's website, as it provides a rough guideline for used major component prices: http://www.nimcobus.com

FWIW & HTH. . .

:-)

Hi RJLONG: I bought it with the intention of converting it but I decided it would take me too long to finish the job. So I purchased a 1984 MCI converted by Marathon in 1984. It was the 7 one they did. Any way it is a 5C with the bouble doors Saudi model. I will part it out if I so see the engine seperately. I painted the out side side and rear panels and it looks pretty good right now. All but three passenger seats are gone and it still has the bathroom.

Thanks for the infomation RJ. I appreciate it very much. Roger

Don't be parting out that Saudi 5C without giving the faithful the opportunity to relieve you of it whole.

Get some pictures and get it onto the classifieds right here on BNO!!!

happy coaching!
