I HAVE A GMC 4905. I WANT TO INSTALL MY ONAN GENERATOR IN THE VENTED DOOR COMPARTMENT WHERE THE A/C CONDENSER IS LOCATED. CAN ALL OF THAT A/C STUFF BE EASILY REMOVED? OR IS THERE A BETTER SUGGESTION?

The stuff is quite easy to remove , and the hydraulic pump in the air cond compressor , and hyd motor & fan on the condenser is a great gift for a fellow with an overheat problem on some other brand coach.

The biggest problem installing the gen set there will be getting an open area quiet.
You will have to reskin to have a wall to capture the sound.

Most folks don't bother , and use that area to hold a basement air cond , and install the noisemaker in the old HVAC blower area.

Yes, use it. On my 4905, I put my Onan 6.5 in the condenser bay. It is a little noisy due to the open grill, but I don't have to worry about it overheating! Use sheet insulation on the sidewalls and ceiling, to quiet the upstairs noise. Leave the circulating pump hooked up to provide hot water for your cabin heat, and the drivers heat and defrost. If you take the evaporator fans and coils out for a central system (I did), rewire the relay wires for the water pump. Any questions, drop me an e-mail. HTH and Cheers...JJ

Addendum to Post: The genset won't fit in the space that the compressor comes out of. ...JJ

But the air cooled OHNO bangers do just make it into the drivers side blower bay , on a custom slide out.

The old compressor area is a great spot for the collection of power hoses , and adapters.

I even installed a thru the floor (like from 7/11) safe in the compressor compartment from the bedroom , and there is still loads of room for hookup cords.

PS. Try not to park next to JJ on the gen set side!
