On my 4106, I "feel" that my steering column needs a bit of lubrication. Don's ask how I know, but after thousands of "hands on the wheel" miles, you get to know the old girl. Is there anything in the column that needs oil or graphite, or??? The maint. manual doesn't address lubing the steering column.

There IS a univeresal joint in the column , and it has a greese fitting , but I'm not sure how accessable it is.

There also is a 1 1/2 to one reduction unit that you might do too.

My Prevost has a zerk fitting at the base of the steering column. I give it a shot or two at every chassis lube. Pump in too much and the column and steering wheel rise.
