Ok guys. Who has heard of a roof/air brand name "Instamatic"? I've been looking for a shroud for my Instamatic roof/air around here, and nobody has heard of that brand name. And Camping World only sells Coleman and Duo-Therm. Any idea where I can find them? Need two new or used. Thanks to all AL. E-mail ALBUS4106@AOL.COM |

Never heard of a Instamatic AC but I have seen where people had made up a shround out of sheet metal. It is considered a more permanent solution to the somewhat fragile fiberglas shroud. Should be easy enough to make. cd |

Instamatic is an OLD name, they made refers as well as A/C's. Go to your local RV service center and talk to the guy with the most seniority. He will probably be able to tell you something but will want you to upgrade, that's his job. While you are there, talk to the parts guy with the most seniority, it's his job to sell you something, might as well be what you want. |

Al, you might want to measure your A/C and see if a replacement shroud from a current brand will fit. My roof AC is so old that there's no longer a label on it so I didn't know what it was. Turned out that a new Coleman shroud made of ABS plastic fit almost perfectly... a little heating of the front edge with my propane torch allowed me to bend it where needed and now it looks like it always belonged there!! Instamatic made A/Cs and refers. I have them on my motor home. They were mfg in the early to mid 70s. They are no longer in business. I have been looking for two A/C covers for a long time. None around. You will either have to make them or hope one of the other brands might fit. |

A good sheet metal shop would probably be a big help. They should be able to fab a shroud if they are a good shop. Steve |
