Does anybody have the TracVision system installed on their coach, and if so, how do you like it? Thanks! |

I just installed a tracvision L3 last week. And have only done one trip with it. Rolling down the expressway the reception is very good. You get a little bit of drop out when you go underneath some overpasses, but it's not really that bothersome. When we traveled along some two lane roads with trees to our south side, the signal was disrupted a fair amount. But when the trees cleared the signal came right back. And of course when we parked at the camp ground there was a tree right in the way. But I did leave a provision in the wiring to plug in my external dish knowing some camp sites could cause a problem. The biggest reason I went with the L3 was because of cost. You just can't beat Camping world prices. I was trying to get information on the Winegard in motion model but was not sucessfull before I was ready to buy and the other units out there were more expensive. Installation was pretty simple althought the wiring is bigger than I think it needs to be. There are 2 RG6 coaxs (if you have use for the dual LNB), a 2 wire power cable that's 1/2" in diameter and a 8 wire signal cable that is also 1/2" in diameter. The 2 coaxs needs to go the the receiver and the other two wires need to go to the supplied switch/junction block. The dish itself has an aluminum plate that mounts to the roof (I used pop rivets)and it has 4 studs mounted on it that the dish bolts to. I have a direct TV MSN ultimate TV receiver and with the dish I'm able to use the picture in a picture feature and record what I want. All in all I'm pretty happy with it so far. |
