I looking for the turning radius and wheelbase for:

MCI 5
MCI 8
MCI 9
GMC 4106
GMC 4107

I am trying to figure out if I can get a 40 footer into my drive and into the parking spot beside the garage. I also plan on pulling a light weight 16 foot trailer with 350 lbs of tounge weight.

MC9 built in '82 to the end had a tighter turn when the integrated power steering box was introduced.(vs the hydraulic ram)
I'd estimate a few feet off the radius.

There have been some earlier coaches retrofitted with the new style box.

It makes a pleasant difference in tight quarters!

happy coaching!

Joe: do you have simular data for the 4905?
I seems on the big side but I am amazed at the spots I get into and out of (without damage)

When planning getting into your driveway, you can back into a place you cannot pull forward into. Don't forget to allow for a two or three stage turn. A 4905 is about 44 foot turning radius.

The specs for a 4905 were incomplete Stephen, the book value for the turning radius is 49 feet! We with a 4905 get to brag, the largest turning radius, the longest wheelbase (318.54 inches) and the highest underfloor baggage space (403 cu ft). The biggest problem with the 4905 is that the front wheels do not turn very sharply, in fact a 40 foot RTS can do better than a 35 foot 4106!
Also in those specs, most people are surprised to also learn that the advertised top speed of a 4905 is only 65.5 mph at factory governed engine speed of 1900, with HP rating of 263 hp, gaining maximum torque at 1200 rpm. Just full of unsolicited facts this morning aren't I?

Very true... but be darn careful of your exit plan... (Yes, plan your exit before you pull in!).

It can be a true wonder how to get out of a spot that only took a graceful two-point maneuver to get into!
