Glad to see you on these boards.
Do you have an DD engine service manual? In the back there is a detailed procedure on how to 'pickle' an 8V71 for long term storage. It sounds like a bit of work, though. Draining fluids etc. . .
Would it be possible to take the old girl out for a drive every few weeks? Might be more fun and easier than pickling it.
However, if it is just a parts bus, maybe not to worry about preserving it at all?
