I have a 8v71 engine I would like to know what year approximately, along with any features that are special. (It is a sidewinder from a 80's something GMC bus.)
1. It has a serial number stamped on the right side; 8VA 297110(star).
2.The model number stamped below it has a metal tag over it. The metal tag has a number 044001375.
3. The blower has a metal tag with number 0440052915.
4. The color is a cream color, on valve covers looks like under the cream it had the standard green.
5. The valve covers are cast alum.
6. The oil pan on the left side has a looks to be breather bolted to it which appears to be original equipment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I should have said removed from 80's GMC bus, not to throw anyone off as to what the engine should be.
