My MC-8 starts immediately when cold. When warmed up, it often takes three starts before it stays running. Any suggestions? DaveD |

It is probably the low oil pressure cut-out. There is not enough oil pressure, with hot oil, to open the switch by the time the starter override relay kicks out. Try it with the low oil switch disconnected. |

Thanks. I'll try that. DaveD |

On our MC-8, there is a pressure switch on the fuel system that allows the starter button to be held down after the engine starts. This overrides the automatic low oil pressure shutdown. When starting with no air pressure, this is not a problem, since the engine used air pressure to shut down. |

In the operator's manual for our MC-9 it says when starting the engine, hold the start button in for 3 seconds after the engine starts. As already posted, it is to get the oil pressure built up. Since I have used the procedure, the engine starts and stays running. MC-Iv. |
