I have been hearing a lot of good things about Coach-Net through FMCA. I am active on some of the Blue BIrd Wanderlodge forums and many are satisfied with Coach-Net. They don't send out little wreckers to deal with the BIg Stuff. For $89.50/year, it sounds like a pretty fair deal. I was just about to join this, so your post is timely. been with coach-net for 5 years and used them a couple of times and very happy with them...they are more knowledgeable with bus conversions than good sams. It costs me $110.00 a year plus you have to be a member of FMCA $35.00 a year. | ||

Bob, I just joined Coach-Net. I called them and said "the online wants me to put in an RV club but I don't belong to one, can I join anyway?" And the phone person (very helpful and knowledgeable) said "We'll list you as a member of <forgot> and sign you up for Coach-Net on that". And she did for the $109 rate. (Edit: The $109 includes at $10 application fee so the yearly charge is $99 for basic service.) Worth a try (unless you're already a member of FMCA or another club). We have had Allstate RV roadhelp, under a hundred dollars and covers the conversion, the other vehicles in your fleet and anything you ride in. Have used for the coach several times, had tires changed on cars, unlocked on mine and others. Am very satisfied, no arguement just towed repaired unlocked or what ever needed. Been with them ten plus years. I'm getting to old to remember how many yeaars. Don't have to join anything. 4905 Larry | ||

I had seen that, Larry. Unfortunately, Allstate got tired of being jacked around by NC insurance authorities and decided to drop all RV policies in NC last fall. Oh, well, Coach-Net seems to be good and about the same price. | ||

Rob, I have Coach-Net based on many referrals of happy customers. Haven't had to use them yet. I had Good Sam for years. Used them twice for tow on a fine commercial pusher. What a farce. Each time had to send three trucks before they got one large enough to tow the rig. Tried to tell them but they would not listen. I needed to tow it to a nearby CAT dealer. Good Sam wanted to tow it to some "holding yard". The only thing worse than being stranded on the I-5 Ashland grade only two days off the lot was the useless and incompetent performance of Good Sam ERS. | ||

Coach-Net is owned by a wrecker service here in Lake Havasu Az and once they have have your unit in there data base they will send the right wrecker for the job and they also have tech service to help with the fridges, hot waters and etc.I have had the service for 5 year and needed it last summer and told the person I wanted a DD dealer and no hook, low boy only 4 hrs later they were there with a low bow trailer the guy measured and I was over but he would dodge the low areas great service | ||

AAA will provide towing through their "Plus" service plan, cost is about $&5.00/yr for your "RV" Just ask for Plus RV membership- works the same as your car...up to 100 miles free four times a year max. | ||

I was with Coach net and received excellent service until it came to towing one of my Classic cars. They won't tow anything over 25 years old so make sure your coach is young enough.. I changed to Good Sam as they don't have a year policy.. | ||

Fraser I believe the over 25 only applies to cars as they had no problem signing my 63 flx up. | ||

I have had Good Sam for many years, but from the posts here, I may change to Coachnet. Good Sam has been fine for the cars, but when I called them to change a bus tire last year, they sent a guy in a mini van that had a little pull start compressor. He did not even have a big enough socket and went to a local parts store to buy one. Fortunately, that was for my old bus which had Dayton wheels. The lugs on that are relatively easy to loosen. If it had been on my MC5, he would not have been able to remove the tire. Further, he had never touched a Dayton wheel before, and I had to coach him along. I have always wondered what kind of joke they would send if I needed a tow. |
