I have a 1984 Neoplan that has some shifting problems and need help fixing it.

The bus shifts fine until u get to the high gear... at 45 MPH the bus will get stuck and will not shift into the final 5th gear.... Anyone in the Los Angeles Antelope Valley area able to help me with my prob? Drop me an e-mailed reply..

You might call S&J in Riverside. I don't have the # but you should be able to get it. He built my 647 and knows these tranny's like nobody else.
If you aren't able to get the # E mail me and I'll dig through my junk drawer and try to find it. Neil

Are you sure that your engine is pulling up to what it should? If it does not attain the proper RPM's it won't shift. I recently worked on a tracter for a camp that had a similar problem and it turned out to be a whole lot of problems in combination but when I got the engine to run right the transmission was just fine.

We've got a Euc that's the same way, only the engine runs out of torque because of governor droop and when the transmission shifts, it hits the next gear real hard.

The problem is completely avoidable as long as the engine is producing full torque when the transmission thinks that it is time to shift, or if it shifts earlier because you let up on the throttle.
