I have finished my dinette and after my trip I will post photos and possibly plans. One tool that has made it a joy to build has been the Kreg jig. Fast, simple, and better than biscuits, dowels, or dovetailing. Clean strong joints. How this tool has flown under my radar for so long baffles me. I bought the Kreg Jr. from Lowes for $40. They start at $9 and then up to thousands but the Jr. is all one would need unless you do wood for a living.

Slow loading but has lots of video and video tips:

This is what I have and it will do everything the more expensive on will:

Kreg Jr.

Easy, Easy, Easy. I love it!

Laryn; Why don't you come to Florida and show me how to do this? I am sure I can get some other bus nuts to join in and watch you. I will furnish the material to work with and then take you to dinner at a new resturant they opened here. They name is McDunulds or is that mc donalds? I don't remember.LOL I don't have one but it is on the list to get SOON I hope.

Great tool; I am currently using it on nearly every piece of wood in my bus. The pocket screws are a little pricey, but well worth the extra few bucks! This tool makes everything so much stronger.

Guys, I'm a part-time cabinet maker and use the Kreg jig for face-frames but not for the cabinet carcass itself - biscuits are much stronger for that part.

Might be true but their web site says otherwise. Nevertheless, biscuits are a PIA! Expensive equipment, glue, and not near as quick or easy, and sometimes with not so great results, (I don’t like messing up expensive wood). I don’t have the patience or time to clamp and wait. Not to take away from other types of wood joinery, this tool is a dream for a once-in-a-while wood worker like myself. My results have greatly exceeded what I thought I could do for so little money invested in such a simple tool. I will post photos of my dinette sometime after I get back from my trip.
