On my MC-7, there are 2 access doors in the back. One is in line with the walking isle on the floor and one is up on what used to be the bench seat. How important are these? If I just covered them over and forgot about them, would I regret it later? I have an 8V with std. tranny. SLO |

SLO, You Shure Will!!! I would love to get my hands on the guy that covered over mine.. I have thought so many times how I would like to Punch him out. Try to replace the air compressor govenor, much less the aircompressor. Do you have a "Mouse trap" on the clutch? How would you reach it? Look at adjusting or replacing the alternator belts! Wow. To replace the air compressor, im told, its easier if you take the right head off the engine! When I had the engine out I put on a NEW compressor and govenor for that reason. Just yesterday I put new belts on the alternator. If the hatch were still there it would have been 15 minutes from the top, instead of 1/2 day in the hate hole! When we build the new bus I am going to add even more access panels, especially in the floor over the wire/pipe chase. Hope this is helpful Jock Fugitt |

SLO, Most likely you will need to access several things through these hatches. I included access to these panels on my MC9 conversion and have used them several times. The alternator, compressor, governor, air regulators, are among just some of the items accessed through those panels. FWIW, Steve G. |
