Actually, 3 questions:

1) Anyone ever heard of a Spartan? The one at work is a 30-passenger 35' diesel pusher (Cummins/Allison) with 19.5" tires & hydraulic brakes-any idaes?

2) Anyone ever seen a Freightliner-chassis snub-nose? That's what the boss says--it's a front-engine (right under the cockpit seats; another Cummins), Allison, & hydro brakes, with a Champion body (made by Thor, IIRC). 28 passengers, 35'. Anyone?

3) Blue Bird, 30', front-engine flat-nose, diesel/Allison, air brakes. Says "TranStar" on the back of it. Anyone seen one of these?

In the RV world, both Spartan and Freightliner are common chassis types for a plethora of (wannbe bus) RV shells.

I'd venture a guess that the chassis can be used for all sorts of special purpose vehicles built by any number of vendors.

I've seen plenty of Freightliner RV's--but never a Spartan. All were pushers.

Spartan Motors, located in Charlotte, MI, manufactures thousands of pusher RV and transit chassis for many different manufacturers. They also build fire apparatus chassis.

I saw what appeared to be a Freightliner or Peterbuilt front end (dog nose) with a RV body on the back... Looked like a converted unibody semi (no 5th wheel). I didnt have time tostop andhunt down the owner, but it was a realy unique chassis style and looked like a professional conversion. It was in South Daytona or New Smyrna beach Florida.. Red in color BTW.

Hi, I saw one of these in a rv mag. earlier this year. Couple of big slides as I recall, first class inside, no expense spared. The price would scare 3 lives off of you, It was a pro job all the way. HTH, Bradd
