I was recently refused space at an RV park because A) It was an Amateur Conversion, and B) because it was too old. (my GM4905A is a '72 model) Near North Ft. Myers, Fl on SR#78, 3 miles West of I-75 Exit 26 Upriver Campground Resort, 17021 Upriver Dr. N. Ft. Myers, FL 33917. The Ad says it is a "friendly" campground, but I had the misfortune of meeting two of the snottiest bi***es of my life!! Think about it,and Cheers...JJ

This doesnt happen very often with a coach, just be happy you dont have a Yellow Skoolie ,, MOST parks do not allow them on the property!

Sadly, there is a lot of prejudice out there and some people don't care who they offend or how hurtful their comments are. No matter what kind of bus you convert, it is your creation and you have a right to be proud.

Not everybody has a coach; some have transits and some even have yellow school-type buses. But as bus owners, we need to stick together for a common cause.

As for this particular park, if they really are that narrow minded, you probably wouldn't want to be there anyway. So maybe they did you a favor at the gate.

been full timing almost ten yrs now in our bus. Sure some parks do not want older buses, or older RV's of any kind. So, what? Many parks you have to be 55 to get in or have a trailer or a motorhome. Great country and I love it when a business owner does as they want with their property. Too many times others want to tell us or me who and what I have to associate with. Better to be told up front rather than be sorry after words.

All for individual choice,
Al Newell

Hey Al, basically I'm inclined to agree with you, but it was late, I was tired and only wanted a place for one night. Not like I was gonna' homestead! 'Nuf sed. ...JJ

John, The next time you only want a place to park for the night, I suggest you find the nearest truck stop. I particularly like Flying J. Also, WalMart is a good choice in many areas as well as K Mart, except Florida. I think the campground owners have raised so much stink that every WalMart in Florida that I have stopped at has "no overnight parking" signs.

Try earthquake country, the RV parks are making noise out here, BUT the truck stops on US 99 and I5 have no objections to overnighters cause you spend money at their places. Besides there is beauty every where, even when the ground moves!
Beats tornado and hurricanes!
