Yup, last night. They have an old car night near here...Sylvan Beach, NY, on Thurs nights. A group of us have been planning on going, so last night I asked if they wanted to ride over in the 4104. Never been there & had no idea if I'd even find a parking place. Well, I did, and impressed the bunch by backing her in around all these old Chargers & Camaros. Sure am glad I didn't bend or back over one of them. Got in free to boot! So...the old girl turned out to be the hit of the show!! No one ever brought a bus to a car show before & I actually had a line forming at the door to have a walk about inside. Another ever changing group formed & argued with each other about mechanics at the rear (with the "bonnet" open, of course). We had a great time & met a lot of great folks. Some even had buses in their past, from '04's, 06's, & Eagles. One guy offered to trade his '69 Camaro even up, but it wasn't nice enough to even consider. Sure do love this ol' girl...she brought a lot of smiles to a lot of folks, from 8 to 80. Made me think about all the lives 4104-204 has touched (as in that previous post). Ride safe, ride happy... |

ah...bus therapy for the masses, much less risky than flu pandemic spreading/immunization vaccination programs & much more health to be gained... even if no mega corps make a killing in the process ~ |

Funny you should mention that. I'm taking my old Flx to a car show on Sunday. Curious to see the reception it gets. Glad you had a good time |

Great job LJ, the more positive PR we have out there, the less likely folks are to complain about the smoke belcher in the right lane ( that would be me)! |

I plan to do that one of these days at the local car club. I belonged for a couple of years but got discouraged because they mostly seem to be interested in street rods, which are great, but I like the real old timers much more. |

I was invited to bring my RTS Bus Conversion and give a presentation at the bi-annual Classic GMC Motorhome Rally in Dotham Al. this year. I owned the Classic GMC for years and belonged to a local and the International GMC club. Because I like the look and lines of the GMC but wanted something bigger - I looked for an RTS to convert (The RTS bus was the follow-on project for many of the same engineers and workers at the GMC M/H assemble plant) - Because of that the RTS looks very very similar to the old Classic MotorHomes The presentation was titled - The RTS BUS - The GMC M/H's BIG little BROTHER I had close to 100 people wind up taking a tour of the RTS Pete RTS/Daytona (Message edited by pete_rtsdaytona on August 08, 2009) (Message edited by pete_rtsdaytona on August 08, 2009) |

You guys doing the upcoming shows, be prepared for lots of visitors. I let people have the run of the bus, even while I was walking around looking at the old treasures of others. When I'd walk back over to the bus, those who were poking around did not know I was the owner & they treated the ol' girl with utmost respect. I had no problems from the walkthoughs. And not one beer was missing!! Best part was watching all the kids wanting to climb in behind the wheel. Lots of happy smiles full of baby teeth for their pics and videos. It really is good PR for us, and I hadn't even thought of that. Have fun... |

BTW: I also have a 1955 Fordomatic Customline, a 1968 MGB, and a 1976 Harley Shovelhead FLH. None are show vehicles by any means, except the HD. I have won a couple old bike night trophies with that. Guess what I'm getting at is the bus was way more fun to have at a car show... (Message edited by Jamo on August 08, 2009) |

I too attended an antique truck show this past weekend. I go to a lot of truck shows. All kinds of interest in the old Crown. Made me want to go home and do some work to her so I did. |

That wasn't the Zephyr that sold for $400,000 a few years ago at Barrett Jackson was it? That is a beautiful car. |
