I posted some pictures of my Thomas conversion in Yahoo Photos if anyone wants to see them. The first ones are of the bus when I first got it, and the laters ones show some of the exterior work that has been done. You'll need to go to page 2 to see the later ones. They are at least 6 months old. I'll post more recent ones soon. Here's the link:

There is also a folder that has a few pictures of a mid-eightys factory conversion. Thomas was experimenting with this idea to compete with the Wanderlodge. I believe they only built three of them.

Very nice job Darryl. It really is inspiring to see other works in progress. I was wondering where you purchased the 3/4" aluminum corner, seems to be just perfect? jpwinks.

Good presentation, Darryl...on both coaches. Gave us a couple of ideas for our Crown Coach.
Thanx. :)

Thanks everbody! Glad you enjoyed the bus. I know alot of you think I'm crazy, but I needed a bus with more ground clearance than my MC-8. I'm in a 4-wheel drive club and some of the campgrounds are definitely not MC-8 friendly. I have a bit more clearance in the Thomas and the turning radius is no contest.

JP, that extruded aluminum corner radius molding is a story unto itself. I searched for months for this molding but could only find it in vinyl. Then one day I was in a truck salvage yard that had a fairly new ambulance in it. It had been in a front end collision and was totaled. Looked inside it and saw this wonderful aluminumn corner molding. I got the name of the manufacturer off of the body tag and looked them up on the internet. To my suprise, they were only an hours drive from my home. I contacted the manager and later drove over. I told him I wanted to buy some and asked him if he'd tell me where they get it. After he decided I wasn't from a competitor, he told he where they get it. But, he says, they won't sell you any, as the extrusion mold belongs to his ambulance company. They own the rights to it and the company that makes the product cannot sell any to anyone else. He was very nice and actually sold me some from his stock and with the promise that I only use it for my conversion and not divulge where I got it. So, I am bound by my word and promise on this product. However, I suggest you look for similar manufacturers in your area and see if they have a similar product.

FWIW, we have a similar aluminum corner radius molding on the pedestal bed frame for our flotation mattress. . . not sure if it's half or three-quarter inch, tho.

A similar type of molding has been used in hospital corridors for years, though I've not seen it in recent new work. I'm a commercial contractor, and I'll ask some subs if they can put us onto a source. Anyone else out there in the medical community- ask the maintenance folks if they know.

You can get round corners for sheet rock that is metal, might work with some thought.
