I replaced the rubber hinge on my RTS windows and am ready to foam the units in to insulate. The problem now comes to mind - will these rubber hinges remain in tact or go bad as the previous hinges did? I think they may as I am sure I will not have time to spray with a ultra violet filter as often as needed. I will have to cover them with black silicone adhesive but if I were you, I might consider those metal replacement hinges (if you can get them into the groove) and silicone over them. The silicone might go bad and need replacement but the metal hinge is there for the life of the bus. Cd |

I replaced my fixed windows with some sliders and clued them in with SIKA-FLEX. That was 7 years ago and they still are in and don't leak. I painted over the 6 original middle windows with the original rubber hinges and they did develop some leaks. You can get the rubber hinges from Universal coach parts or from Mohawk Supply 800-323-7652 part # 2467448. If you can't get that part, then get the hinges for the lower door panels it is the same hinge and that part # is 2005636. Good luck !! |
