As some of you know I have a 99 el3 in revenue service..now I have ride height troubles..
it seems the driver's side is stuck on high ride
so it's a little low on the door side.
does anyone know if I can do away with the e-cas
system, and go back to the "old"style system of
leveling valves ?
getting a little tired of people with nothing better to do calling the cops saying I have a broken spring or "that bus is dangerous..it might flip over !!"
so I ask the gurus here...

Rob -

Call Luke at US Coach in NJ - 1-888-262-2434. He's probably forgotten more about buses than all the combined knowledge on this board.

FWIW & HTH. . .

You might try Peter Pan bus in Secaucus, NJ. They maintain 100's of MCI D,J & E's, and they have done good, fast work for us. (201) 866-6001

You should be able to bypass the ECAS and install leveling valves, but why not go with the flow and just have the ECAS system diagnosed?
Have you checked the air bags for cracks?
Here is a link you probably already have, but just in case:http://www.meritorwabco.com/MeritorWABCO_document/tp98110a.pdf
I hate working on air controls!

if you bypass the system with non-OEM design, will it still pass your next safety inspection?

-perhaps your model came with a standard system that you could convert to, likely a lot of money that might be better spent on repairing to what already exists.

-- It is not safe to travel un-leveled & stressful to the frame.

---MCI has a online parts manual (a virtual bus) that might help you to look at your options; you need a account to use the parts store online site.
You don't need a account to ask there tech support about OEM options, just a telephone.

...bus your cargo safely...
