I Went Back And Read Some Of The Old Postings And I Found (At The Bottom Of The Page) Where The Topic Of The Embree Crown Being Sold On Ebay Is The Topic. I Would Post More There BUT, NO One Would Ever See It..So...I Hope A New Post Is In Order. (YES I Bought The Bus) When I Showed Up In AZ, To See And Pay For The Crown. The PO Would Not Let Me See The Bus Or Hear It Run Until I Paid For It !!! WHAT !! I Was Mad !! The JERK Said Things Like..You Saw The Pictures...I Have Another Guy Who Wants It..And Stuff Like That !!!. WOW..I Was Hot !! So...Against My Better Judgement I Folded And Paid Him. But Not Before I Told Him..If This Bus Isnt What You Said It Was I Will Kick Your Ever Loving...@$$ WOW !!!. I Couldnt Believe My Tired Eyes...SHE Was Beautiful !!! Like A Museum Bus !!!. Im Telling You..I Just Couldnt Believe It. The Crown Fired Right Up And Ran Good. Once Pulled Out Of The Garage I Could Really See More In The Sun Light..WOW !! The Bus Is Looking To Be WAY Better Than The JERK Has Told Me. By This Time Im Starting To Warm Up To This Guy. I Wont Call Him JERK Any More Here But By His Name. SANDY. Shady..I Mean Sandy Gave Me A Ton A Spare Parts That He Had Laying Around In The Garage.(I Think He Was Scared) Stuff Like Complete P/S For The Crown. Extra Body Panels From A Newer Crown And Stuff Like That.So...Im Really Feeling Good. I Could Tell By Looking At The Engine And Trans That They Were New. NOT Rebuilt But NEW !!. The Speedo Witch Was New Read...Just Shy Of 300 Miles. Sandy Said It Was All New When He Bought The Bus In 93. Only Miles On It Was By Him. So...The Bus Has Sat Since 1993 In Sandys Garage Collecting Dust. When I Went To Leave The Bus Was Having Trouble Building Air. I Could Hear Air Leaks And Was A Little Worried. But..A Short Drive Down The Street Started To Heal The Old Girl. Brakes Felt Good....So Off I Was. On My Way To Cliffords House. Maybe 5 Blooks Away From Sandys I See A Gas Station. So I Hang My Arm Out The Window And Try To Flag My Friends In The Car In Front Of Me. Pull In...Pull In I Yell. Just About This Time..One Of Lake Havasues Finist Pulls Up And Says... What Do You Need ?? I Saw You Flagging Me Down. !!. Well One Look At My Expired 93 License Plate That Reads ( NT-A-BUS ) It Was All Over For Me. 2 Tickets Later..We Were On Our Way. ( I Just Paid The Tickets Last Week For The Tune Of $1450 ) I Can Understand The Expired Plate..But NO Insurance ?? I Have Ins. On Everything I Drive Also Covers Me For 14 Days On Anything I Buy.,,Well The Courts Wouldnt Except My Proof Sent To Them By My Ins. Co..So I Just Paid The Damn Thing..I Want To Go Back To AZ Someday And Visit Clifford Again ! LONG Story Short...Kinda... I Went To The Quartzsite Bus Rally In The Crown. Almost Got Blown Over In The Storm There...Slept In The Crown Freezing My Butt Off ( Took Lots Of Antifreeze For Me Not To Freeze To Death )LOL !!! Had Two Blow Outs On The Way Back Home. Other Tan That All Was Fine. The More Miles I Put On The Crown The Better She Ran. And The Faster She Would Gooooo.... By The Time I Pulled Up To My Shop (In A Major Snow Storm) The Bus Was Running So Good I Wanted To Keep Driving !! NOT !! Everything Was Working Great !!. Even The Air Leaks Went Away. I Just Talked To A Fellow Who Use To Be The Gen Forman At Embree Bus Co. Back When Elvin Embree Was Still Running The Place.(Before His Passing)He Told Me That This 60 Series Crown (1 of 9 Built) Was Elvins Favorite Bus. His Baby !!. He Told Me All About The 8.2 Detroit Transplant And Trans. And YES....They Were Brand New. Cost Just Shy Of $20000 To Do The Install. WOW !!! He Told Me That He Was Still Friends With The Guys Down At The Shop. Embree Was Just Sold Again To Another Co. Laidlaw Had Been The Owners. Anyway.....He Was Going To Try And Go Up Stairs Into The History Section And Try And Locate The Original Folder On My Crown !! Hes About Positive Its Still There.!! And I Will Get It When Found...WOW. This 1963 CROWN Has A Lot Of HISTORY !!! Still My Favorite Bus That I Own. Theres A Lot More To The Storys..But, I Didnt Want Anyone To Fall Asleep..LOL !! ENJOY. I think that the FINEST should a arrested you for stealing,commiting a felony,transporting stolen property,crossing state lines,and blocking traffic etc!! My Gosh that is a fine looking Crown!! GOOD FIND!! Gomer | ||

WOW !!! That Is A Beautiful Crown You Have There. If I Had Yours I Could Just Junk All Of Mine..LOL !! I Am Looking At A Crown Like Yours Right Now. Its Just Not A Twinscrew. Everything Else Looks The Same. Someday...There Will Be More To Come. Im Just To Darn Busy To Travel Anymore Right Now. I Hope It Can Wait A Couple More Months. I Will Buy It Then. Had Two Blow Outs On The Way Back Home. The bus was being kind to you and hinting to REPLACE ALL the tires. The date code can be read in the sidewall, over 7-10 years and there goners. NICE !!! Bus Will you make it a camper , or use her in movies? FF | ||

YES, I Understand The Date Code. My Problem Was Low Air Pres. (Long Story) But, YES You Are Right. My Plan Was To Buy A Set Of Alcoas And New Tires Once I Picked The Bus Up. But, That Was Forgotten. Its A Real Chore When You Have A Fighting Husband/Wife Team Driving Your Chase Car..!!! LOL !! Almost Everything Is Forgotten..Besides The Push To Get Home..LOL !!! LOL !!! (Will You Make A Camper Or Use Her For The Movies)....... Good Question. My Plan Is To Use/Show The Bus As The ..COOL BUS.Or Something Like That ?? Maybe She Will Say..Class Of 1963 On The Side ??? Im Not Sure Yet.????? I Was Born In 1963. So... The Bus Has A Certain Flair To Me RIGHT NOW....You Can See EMBREE On Both Sides. The PO Removed A Few Letters. It Now Reads MB And Then On One Side It Says...KIDS ON THE CURB. I Also Am Thinking About Putting EMBREE Back On Her ?? I Have Mixed Feelings. In The World Of Street Rods... These Vintage School Buses Are Becoming The Rage. I Want To Keep Her Stock !! But Just Doll Her Up. ( MY WAY ) Im Starting To Get To Many Buses Now To Foucus On The Final Product. This coach is 40', Cummins 220 Turbo (265), Fuller ten speed, anti-slip, inter-lock tandem, Ross Power Steering,roughly 85,000 miles (at this time)on a rebuild, Aluminum skin up to window level (steel there)+ the top, 12x22.5 Radial tires all around, 110 gallon fuel tank. ...don't know what else to say. The pic below is "in transition". Not as it looks now. Inside is much the same, but exterior has a new paint job and looks considerably different...(can't seem to "re-size" to fit the requirements of this board.)  . Thanx for the comments! I probably already know the answer to this question but, Do you still have the seats ?? PLEASE !!! I seem to remember your Crown now. Didnt you buy 2 ?? and sell one ??
