Is there any reference to the actual airflow on a GM coach? I am interested in the flow over and into the rad compartment, and air flow over the engine, into the eng comp and then out etc. Our bus is a 1948 and the radiator is mounted over the engine with the intake on the rear of the roof, no scoop to speak of, and down thru the radiator pulled by the fan and then out in the very rear cnter of the bus about 4-6' off the pavement. I wish to install a trans cooler with a fan arrangement and have seen Jack Conrads install in a side door pulling air out. I dont have the skirt in front of the wheels and not sure if we ever did. I would like to pull the coolest air in and out thru the trans cooler. I also have ?'s about the air intake set up as it was originally as i am sure this stuff worked as planned(in 1948) The air intake for the engine air filter was drivers side rear quarter mid way up on the rear curve. As original the air from the roof thru the rad was seperated from the rest of the engine but there is full screen opening in the rear center of the bus below where the rad heat is dumped out so i am guessing air was/is pulled in from underneath and over the engine and out the rear. Thanks for any insight or info. |
