i have just finished fabbing the new hitch and xtra support for it.was wondering if any of you guys could explain how to wire my 4104 for trailer lights, and also for the electric brakes for my master tow car dollie.the car dollie has a 6 pin wiring harness.is this hard to do since the bus has air brakes and the dollie has elec brakes? do i still need a brake control box up front in the driver compartment??? any help would be greatly appreciated. |

My 4106 had a control installed by the previous owner when I bought it 7 years ago. Lights are controlled from the rear turn and tail lights. I didn't like the way the stoplight isolator worked, so I added stop lights on each fender. Electric brakes are controlled by the stop lights with a controller up front determining how strong to apply. My Master Tow has a 7 pin wireing harness and yours should too. |

Chris, You still need an electronic brake control box. It will need one wire wired to an ignition hot, or a battery hot source, depending upon the controller. One to the brake lights, and one to the brake pin of the trailer connector. G |

if yours is a 24 volt bus you will need 24v.x12v. relay switches to run your 12 volt trailer/toad......for the controller use a 12v. source (hot feed) .... use the pedal switch source (found over the spare tire) thru a relay to activate the breaking unit with 12v....brakes,run lights, signals will need relays also.....often times I've seen a separate box in the engine rm for this because the relays and wiring take up a fair amount of room 6"x12"x3" would work well |

typo error: the brakes will not need a relay in the rear eng. rm. ..this will already be stepped down and brought to the rear from the controller up frount |

the controller uses 2 hot leads 1 is to power the unit... the other is for the actual brake controlling. It needs to know when to apply the brakes ..this is done by picking up a 12 v. lead from the pedal switch /air switch. the third wire is a ground. the forth wire goes to the bus rear to controll the braking of the toad...(make sure that the air/pedal switch is indeed 12 v. at this point otherwise you will need to use a relay |
